“Due to my earning now, I am able to purchase a school bag for my daughter” – Saina Bano, Tailor, Village Lagha Bamori
Saina says, earlier I used to be at home involved in household chores, family of six was dependent only on my husband’s income which wasn’t enough to even fulfil our basic needs. I wanted to contribute economically but I didn’t know what could be done. Meanwhile I got to know about ‘Vocational Training Centre’ of Dalit Sangh and thought of giving a try. So firstly they provided training & then linked to a vendor. We are a group of 15 women, all coming from nearly same background, and work together as a team. The vendor provides us unstitched clothes at the centre and we stitch it under the supervision of our trainer. I earn minimum 150 rs per day in our skill development centre & I am very happy because this feeling of being valued is wonderful. This centre has strengthened me. Recently my daughter asked me for a school bag & I gave her without any hesitation. I am very thankful to my trainer and Dalit Sangh
